Are you looking to leverage your IT expertise in a role that spans strategic oversight and operational excellence? As we embark on our expansion journey, we're seeking a dynamic and skilled Head of IT Infrastructure & Workplace to play a pivotal role in shaping our IT landscape.

Role Overview:

In this leadership role, you will translate our overall IT strategy into tactical activities and an annual plan, focusing on infrastructure, endpoint devices, workplace environment, and IT security.  Your mission will include IT operations and vendor relationships with our outsourcing partners, ensuring alignment with our business goals, and maintaining the highest standards of information security and the leadership of a diverse team of IT professionals and external service managers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the IT Infrastructure, endpoint, workplace, and IT security strategy in alignment with the global IT vision and realize IT operations according to the demanded SLAs and quality.
  • Ensure strategic and tactical IT management that supports LAT Nitrogen Group's business objectives, fostering effective and efficient IT services and systems.
  • Translate overall IT strategies into actionable annual plans, managing projects and operational activities to achieve these plans, ensuring the effective management of OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Drive the effective management of budgets and resources within the IT domain, including cost tracking, forecasting, and budget preparation.
  • Oversee license and vendor management for non-SAP business applications, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, GDPR).
  • Lead information security and risk management efforts, developing policies and practices that protect our data and systems without compromising agility or innovation.
  • Build and sustain professional relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic external service providers to enhance IT service delivery.
  • Make final decisions on IT infrastructure solutions and play a key role in various advisory boards to evaluate and authorize changes and new demands.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of IT professionals and external service managers. Promote a culture of excellence, agility, and continuous improvement within the team.

 

Required qualifications and skills:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A university degree in Informatics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure within a manufacturing context (chemical industry experience is a plus), a total of 10-15 years of experience in IT.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure topics, standards, best practices, and risk management.
  • Proven experience in multi-provider management and SLA management.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent analytical, strategic, and communication skills. Language skills in German and French are beneficial.
  • A strong leadership presence, capable of fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Flexibility and the capacity to manage ambiguity effectively.
  • Exceptional implementation skills with a strong orientation towards customer service and quality.
  • A hands-on approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization and multinational company.
  • Proficiency in project management, including agility in managing projects within an Agile context.
  • Creativity and open-mindedness with a keen insight into market trends, competition, system usage, and digitalization.
